It's Wednesday! And we're gathered here to play Bridge, as we do every Wednesday. Something is missing today - the presence of our friend Georgia - so suddenly gone from our midst. We weep for ourselves, but hers is the better part.
Her sudden passing behooves all of us to ask, "Am I ready to meet the Lord in an instant?"
The answer will be "YES" if we believe in and accept Jesus as our Savior.
Now is a most appropriate time to think of this as we approach Good Friday and Easter - Resurrection Day.
There is a saying that reads, "Death leaves a heartache nothing can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
We are thankful now for the many memories we have of our friend Georgia - happy hours shared in the past and now cherished in our hearts.
It is fitting that we offer a prayer to our Heavenly Father:
Almighty and Eternal God, who amid the changes of this mortal life art always the same: We bow in reverece before Thee. In the silence of this hour, speak to us of eternal things and comfort us with the assurance of Thine everlasting love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
